Filters

I’ve been meaning to do something with this ratty filter guide that came with some filters I bought a long time ago.

The filters are long gone, but I’ve hung onto this guide since, passing it from camera bag to camera bag. It’s damn near illegible now, so I figured it was time to get it into electronic format, the way the kids like it these days.

Took a trip down to Ano Nuevo State Reserve to see one of three places in the world (all in California) where these seals come to mate.

I’m selling a scanner and computer, if anyone’s interested. Sorry, no shipping to Guam, no birthday presents for your lawyer in Zaire, and no trades for goats.

Recap for My Own Posterity

Posted in Text

on Jan 2, 2006

Since my memory is fading fast and hard, I think it’d be good for me to recap what happened last year…

  • Had a small show at Landmark Arts Gallery in Chicago
  • Started Treemeat.com, reinvigorating my love of photography
  • Picked up a Hasselblad 500cm and started shooting medium format film, reinvigorating my love of good photography
  • My parents merged their companies, Riverbend Timber Framing (site by me) and Insulspan, with some of our [neighors to the north](http://www.pfbcorp.com/), after 26 years of working their asses off. This brings them closer to actually being able to retire, and makes sure that I won’t be able to get my sawdust cleaning job back.
  • Left my job at the company I helped start three years earlier
  • Moved to San Francisco, finally catching back up with Michelle after she ditched me and Chicago for warmer climes the summer before.
  • Started Elevated Works a small (as you can get) web design company
  • Partnered up with some old friends, in order to take over the design world
  • Michelle’s dad went in and came out of the hospital, Big scare, big relief.
  • Moved to Berkeley, CA. Was forced to grow my beard longer.

Wow, nothing like putting what seemed like a significant year into a list like that to make it seem like nothing much happened.

Finally made it home, no thanks to BART (who would ever need a ride home from the airport after midnight?). I went back to the home/heartland of Michigan for Xmas and spent a good portion of the time there falling on my ass trying to snowboard, then headed out to the middle of yon nowhere to party with our great friends Stephen & Kathy and puke in an outhouse.

I managed to take some pics in between, but since no one else thought today was a workday, I won’t be getting them back for a few more days. I also don’t have any of the kick ass presents I got from people, as I couldn’t be bothered to remember to bring them with me on the plane so they’re being shipping behind me, which is just as well, since I need a few naps.
