I just received my first new significant photo gear purchase in a long while; a Mamiya 6 with three lenses (50mm, 75mm, and 150mm). It’s a 6×6 rangefinder, almost like a mini-Hasselblad. Justin already predicts that it will take over as my main camera, and it’s easy to see why; it’s tiny (for medium format), shoots the same format, same size, and has almost exactly the same lens ranges that I already have for my Hasselblad (50mm, 80mm and 150mm). I’m heading out to take some test shots with it right now, and will hopefully have something to see tonight.
Willie Nelson played five nights at the Fillmore in San Francisco recently. He didn’t stop playing for 3 hours. There were a few points where I was starting to zone out and just wanted to sit down, but had to check myself; “If Willie Nelson can stand up for 3 hours, so can I.” Great show.
